Common Swimming Styles
Swimming is a team or solo swimming game that requires the whole body to move rapidly through the water using one or more arms. The game is normally played in open water or pool areas. It originated centuries ago and was first known as “snorkeling”. It has gained popularity since then.
Today it is the most popular endurance sport in the world. In spite of being a relatively safe activity, swimming can be a risky sport if certain precautions are not observed. It is a great way to lose weight, tone muscle and improve cardiovascular fitness. There are some health risks involved, so it is important for swimmers to consult with their physician before they start swimming in a pool.
One of the most common ways to swim is freestyle where there is no restriction on how fast one swims. This means that swimmers do not have to worry about swimming at certain speeds for distance using fins. In this type of swimming, a fin has to be worn underwater to assist in moving quickly but still maintaining good balance. Another one sport that uses swimming fins is the butterfly stroke which is one of the fastest swimming strokes in the world.
If you are training for a particular Olympic event like the Olympic Games, you will have to be in excellent shape to qualify for that competition. Swimming is done in different swimming pools all over the world. For example, in the Olympic games, swimmers from all over the world are divided into four different classes depending on how fast they can complete the race. At the Olympic level, qualification consists of swimming a certain distance in the pool of a certain length.
The backstroke is the most common swimming style used by swimmers. A lot of beginners start with the backstroke because it is a relatively easy swim. The backstroke starts from the side of the pool and makes its way towards the shore by kicking off from the side. This is often accompanied by a high kick from the board. Many people who have mastered the backstroke begin to use the freestyle technique where the kick from the board is optional and comes after the kick.
The breaststroke is another common swimming technique used by swimmers. The breaststroke starts by pulling the arms behind the body and pushing through the water with the body as you float forward. The arms are used for propulsion and to help with balancing but are not required when you are in the water surface. The breaststroke is a good race swim because it gets an easier start than the backstroke and you do not have to go too far out of the water when you take off. It is also a fast swimming style in itself and many athletes use it for distance events such as the 100-meter race swim.
